The Humour Award Academy Unveils Theme for its Fourth Edition

VICTORIA ISLAND, Nigeria - Feb. 28, 2025 - PRLog -- In addition to the new theme, the Academy has also introduced changes to its award categories. The "Humanitarian Comedian Of The Year" category has been expanded to "Humanitarian Personality Of The Year", recognizing individuals who have made a positive impact in their communities. A new category, "OAP Of The Year", has been added to the roster, bringing the total number of award categories to 25.

"The Humour Awards has become a benchmark for excellence in the humour industry," said Uche Dominic, Convener of The Humour Award Academy. "This year's theme and new categories reflect our commitment to celebrating creativity, innovation, and social responsibility."

According to Amanda David, professionally known as Ermandha, the Academy's new Head Of Media, "We are committed to making the fourth edition of The Humour Award even better. To achieve this, we have lined up a number of exciting activities leading up to the main event, which will be announced according to schedule."

Furthermore, the Academy has announced that certificates of participation will be given to attendees of its creative workshops. This is in addition to the introduction of certificates for nominees in all award categories, aimed at recognizing and celebrating their outstanding contributions to the humour industry.

On another note, Uche Dominic, Founder of The Humour Award Academy, will be embarking on a tour of the US, this March. He will be teaming up with board member, Fisola Odukogbe. They are expected to meet up with various comedy clubs and stakeholders in the comedy industry. The mission includes finding support for and advocating for the inclusion of African comedians, with StandUp comedy in special focus. Also raising awareness for its cause: The Humour Awards Foundation.

The Humour Awards is expected to take place on a yet to be announced date later this year. The venue and exact date will be announced
subsequently. The event promises to be an unforgettable night of laughter, entertainment, and recognition of outstanding achievements in the humour industry.
