Vaccine Equity Education Coalition's Celebration of International Women's Day Rutgers University
 
NEWARK, N.J. - March 6, 2025 - PRLog -- Newark, NJ – Inclusive Health Innovation Together (iHIT Co.) and the Vaccine Equity Education Coalition (VEEC) are proud to host an impactful event on March 7, 2025, at Rutgers University Newark (Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall). This dynamic gathering will bring together leading healthcare experts, grassroots advocates, and community stakeholders to advance discussions on vaccine confidence, maternal & infant health, and community-led health solutions.

The event will kick off with a Registration & Networking Breakfast at 9:00 AM, providing attendees an opportunity to connect and prepare for a day of insightful conversations. The Opening Remarks (9:30 AM - 9:55 AM) will feature Dr. Hajar Shirley, Founder & Research Director of iHIT Co. and Project Director of VEEC, along with Dr. Christian Mendez-Baez, who will highlight NJCRI & VEEC collaboration as a real-world example of community-driven impact

At 10:00 AM, a highly anticipated Keynote Address will be delivered by Rebecca Maxie, a global health grassroots leader from the UN Foundation's Shot@Life initiative. The discussion will focus on "Advocating for Global & Local Health Equity."

The event will also feature two engaging panel discussions:
  • Panel 1 (11:00 AM - 11:45 AM): Strengthening Vaccine Confidence & Access
    • Moderated by Dr. Hajar Shirley, with panelists from Greater Newark Health Coalition, NJCRI, and the pharmacy community. Discussions will cover vaccine hesitancy, public trust, and improving healthcare accessibility.
  • Panel 2 (12:00 PM - 12:45 PM): Community-Led Innovations for Maternal & Infant Health
    • Led by Dr. Hajar Shirley, featuring panelists from She Matters, NJCRI, and VEEC. Topics will include combating misinformation, faith-based perspectives in healthcare, and innovative maternal-child health programs.
Engaging Call to Action
The event will conclude with a Closing Reflection (1:00 PM - 1:15 PM), where Dr. Hajar Shirley & NJ DOH Partners will discuss next steps, including ongoing efforts to promote equitable healthcare initiatives.
