California Closets of Southwest Florida named 2025 Honoree by Ronald McDonald House Charities SWFL

FORT MYERS, Fla. - March 27, 2025 - PRLog -- California Closets of Southwest Florida was recognized by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida as the 2025 Honoree of the nonprofit's 29^th Annual Storybook Ball in February.

Ronald McDonald House gives families the ability to fully focus on the healing of their child by providing a temporary home away from home in a secure and comfortable environment among other families sharing a similar burden. California Closets has been a proud supporter of the organization for several years, donating new closets and renovating existing spaces to support the house's 2020 expansion, along with cooking meals for families and sponsoring various fundraising events.

"This is a mission we care deeply about. We've had friends and co-workers who were able to be close to their children in times of crisis thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities, and as long as we are able, we are happy to support their work in Southwest Florida," said Taylor Woods, partner and vice president of operations for California Closets of Southwest Florida. In 2019, due to high demand in the Fort Myers community, Ronald McDonald House launched their expansion project, a plan to add six bedrooms to the existing six-bedroom house, doubling its occupancy. California Closets designed and donated the closets for the six new bedrooms, and they renovated the six existing closets to match, ensuring room for refrigerators within the closets for breast milk storage. During the project, California Closets helped upgrade other storage closets within the house, along with adding cabinetry to an onsite staff office.

"Expanding our House meant expanding our ability to serve more families during some of the most challenging times in their lives," said Leanna Gonzalez, Director of Business and Finance at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida, and the expansion's project manager. "California Closets played an integral role in ensuring that each new and existing space was not only functional but also provided comfort and convenience for our families. Their generosity and attention to detail helped us create a home-like environment where families can focus on what truly matters—their child's healing."
