What does the green check mark next to "Email Contact" mean?

The green check mark (tick) next to "Email Contact" (in a press release) has following significance-

1. The contact email address on record has been verified as a working email address. However, it is displayed partially for spam protection.
2. The contact email address owner has agreed to be the contact person for that press release.
