April 26, 2010 - PRLog -- On Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 1:00- 4:00 pm at the Georgia State University Student Center Ballroom, Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc (SEM Link) will host its 3rd Annual Science, Engineering and Mathematics Career Fair and Exhibition. This event is the signature event for our Math and Science Career Academy, which exposes K-12 to math and science through hands on activities, real-world applications and career exploration. The purpose of this free, public event is to expose K-12 students to the various careers and applications in these disciplines. Exhibitors, professionals and students in these disciplines will feature their careers, conduct hands-on demonstrations or showcase real world applications of math and science.  The event will be set up similar to a job fair in which students will visit exhibitors’ tables.

“We are very excited to once again host this event to expose Metropolitan Atlanta youth to STEM careers,” says Kimberly M. White, Board of Director and Event Chairperson. “This event represents why we exist as an organization-- to connect K-12 students to the STEM community.  We are very thankful for event sponsors, such Coca-Cola African American Technical Network, Georgia Power, Georgia Institute of Technology, Eiram Creative and American Chemical Society- Georgia Local Section.  Their financial support has allowed us to make this event free and open to the public. We also want to thank the undergraduate and graduate students and professionals,  that take time out of their busy schedules to showcase their careers or engage kids in hands on math and science activities.”

.This event is a success every year because of the involvement of the academia, corporations and government agencies in the Atlanta metropolitan area.  We welcome K-12 (home schooled and private or public school) students and parents to take advantage of this opportunity to meet and interact with science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) professionals and learn about their careers.
