Sept. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Motor Werks BMW is looking forward to being able to offer the replacement for the venerable BMW M3 in the next few years. This car, the BMW M4, should hit the local Chicago area BMW showroom (http://www.motorwerksbmwbarrington.com/showroom/index.htm) in the next few years. As of now, all enthusiasts have to enjoy is shots of a concept version of the M4 that was revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California last month. No official plans have been released, but many experts expect the M4 Concept to transition to a production model without too many changes.

BMW M Division President, Dr. Friedrich Nitschke said, “The BMW Concept M4 Coupe reflects the BMW M philosophy in ideal form: It combines motor racing genes and unrestricted everyday suitability in a highly emotional overall concept. For four generations, the BMW M3 has put motor racing on the road and the BMW Concept M4 Coupe consistently continues to pursue this fundamental idea.”

The concept coupe showed up with the muscular design language that has characterized recent BMW performance cars. It features faceted surfaces, voluptuous contours, and an aggressive stance. The finish, a specially developed metallic gold color called “Aurum Dust” covered the sheet metal. The BMW front end still bears the distinctive kidney shaped grille and round headlamps to make sure that everyone knows it’s a BMW.

No details were released by BMW about what could lie under the hood of the BMW M4 Concept or the production version of this car. A 420 hp twin turbocharged 3.0L incline six cylinder engine will probably be pegged for duty, and a seven speed dual clutch automatic or six-speed manual will probably be on offer. To further boost performance the chassis will be made of aluminum and carbon fiber to reduce weight.

While the M4 may not be available for some time, the M3 and M5 are currently available at Motor Werks BMW of Barrington. Interested buyers can visit the dealership at 1475 S. Barrington Rd. in Barrington, IL or contact the Motor Werks sales staff (http://www.motorwerksbmwbarrington.com/contact-form.htm) at 866-895-7310.
