Follow on Google News | APICS Toledo Offering Basics of Supply Chain Management ClassThe Toledo Chapter of APICS, The Association for Operations Management, is proud to announce the offering of “Basics of Supply Chain Management” at the Betco Corporation training center in Toledo, Ohio.
By: APICS Toledo This class covers the basic concepts in managing the flow of materials in a supply chain from suppliers to customers. “Basics of Supply Chain Management” introduces supply chain concepts and emphasizes basic terminology but it also covers relationships among activities in the supply chain. The class provides an introduction for supply chain management personnel and gives basic definitions for planning and controlling the flow of materials into, through, and out of an organization. It explains fundamental relationships among the activities that occur in the supply chain from suppliers to customers. BSCM is divided into four major areas: · Businesswide concepts for satisfying customer expectations · Determining and managing customer demand · Managing the transformation processes used to satisfy customer demand · Managing the supply activity supporting transformation processes Specific topics include · Introduction to Supply Chain Management · Forecasting demand · Master Planning of Production · Material Requirements Planning · Capacity Planning and Controlling Production Activity · Fundamentals of Inventory · Inventory Management · Distribution including Warehousing, Inventory and Transportation · Quality Management and Purchasing · Just in Time Manufacturing This class is an excellent opportunity for people who have recently joined the supply chain or operations management fields to get a good understanding of the supply chain and is also a chance for more experienced personnel to get an understanding of areas which may affect or be affected by their own role.
