May 2, 2008 - PRLog -- The Guide invites members of the public to nominate their favourite independently owned establishment in their region – preferably one that offers regional dishes or uses local produce - online at http://www.which.co.uk/gfgaward , by text or by sending in a postcard.

Nominations are invited until Friday 23 May 2008 (http://www.which.co.uk/gfgaward ). Ten regional award winners will be announced at the end of May and will feature in the 2009 edition of The Good Food Guide.

These restaurants will go on to compete for the Restaurant of the Year award, which will be chosen by a panel of experts led by Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor of The Good Food Guide.  The award will be presented as part of the annual Which? Awards, at a ceremony on Tuesday 17 June 2008 at the British Museum.

Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor, The Good Food Guide, says:

“When we launched this award last year we had a great response from the public. There are some fantastic gems up and down the country serving up great quality local produce, and we want people to tell us about them so that we can give them the accolades they deserve.”
