Independence Day Celebrations.

Independence – the quality of state of not being dependent or controlled by others.

The definition of Independence can be summarised in few words but the sacrifice of the great martyrs… no words can elucidate, no pen can depict! As individuals we cherish the freedom we have gained and value every aspect of it.

Working in an International BPO, the importance of such festivals needs to be underlined. At Oceans Connect (I) Pvt. Ltd. - Sagar Naik, Vice President, Oceans Connect Social Club says " we recognise this fact and have planned a novel celebration. Wearing Traditional attire and awarding ‘Mr. Traditional & Ms. Traditional” has always been a practice. To this we add the Tricolour theme where people will dress in the outfits that portray the essence of the colours of our flag."

Since our employees are largely in the age group of 18-24, we have come up with an Essay Writing Competition on the topic- ‘The India of my dreams’. This will allow us to picturise the changes that we could expect in our country for a better tomorrow.

In addition to this we also have the Slogan Writing Competition to acknowledge the spirit of our great martyrs.  

I think, the fact that we Indians provide better Customer Service to international clients in more than one way, is itself an achievement one should be proud of! Retaining basic Indian values of hospitality and warmth while adopting new cultures with open arms is indeed commendable. On the 62nd anniversary of our Independence, let us salute the independence in thoughts, respect the hard work of the new generation and value the freedom of expression that we Indians have gained!
