ACS Launches ACR100 SIMFlash CCID and HID versions

(HONG KONG STOCK Exchange: 8210, www.acs.com.hk), Asia Pacific's number one supplier in PC-linked smart card readers industry (Source: research report issued by Frost & Sullivan), announces that ACR100 SIMFlash, awarded with the D’ucoty “Product Innovation Award in Telecommunications” at CardEx Asia 2006, now comes in CCID (USB Chip/Smart Card Interface Devices) and HID (Human Interface Device) versions with more partitioning options.

Aside from its Mass Storage Device Class compatibility the ACR100 SIMFlash’s plug and play feature is enhanced with its smart card reader now having either CCID or HID compliance, which reduces driver installation issues.

More than just a SIM-sized smart card reader, the ACR100 SIMFlash serves as a mass storage device as well with its built-in flash memory upgraded to 1 GB (Other memory sizes available upon request). This allows further expansion on the capabilities of the applications, for example, GSM solutions, VoIP (Voice over Internet Phone), e-commerce, home banking, computer/network security and data/application storage. Users can now also partition this memory into up to three drives so as to boost security and flexibility when users store different kinds of software. Several combinations of different memory areas can be chosen among private/security, public, CD-ROM/auto-run and hidden.
