Infiniti of Scottsdale to Unveil Infiniti G37 Convertible at Arizona Auto Show

Motor Trend's Arizona Auto Show will be the venue for the Southwest debut of the 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible. Arizona drivers are invited to attend the the show with Certified Infiniti Product Specialists from Infiniti of Arizona.

Nov. 20, 2008 - PRLog -- With an expected arrival in Infiniti showrooms in April, the hardtop G37 Convertible is making its debut at the 2008 Arizona Auto Show November 27th through the 30th.   The first Infiniti cabrio since the early 90's  will have several differences from its coupe relative. Infiniti of Scottsdale (www.infinitiofscottsdale.com) is one of only a handful of dealers in America who sold the original Infiniti convertible the M30 Convertible in 1993.

This first-ever Infiniti G Convertible builds on the performance heritage of the Infiniti G line, with the liberation only a convertible with the top down can provide.  "Designed to rejuvenate the spirit, the G37 Convertible adds an open-air soundtrack to the G's legendary driving exhilaration," said Brian Carolin, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, speaking before automotive media at the vehicle's world debut. "This new G has dual beauty - it looks as good with the top up or down - along with a beautiful, leather-appointed interior that is meant to be experienced wide-open."

Infiniti says the design of the 2009 G37 Convertible is all-new, from the A-pillar back, including structural reinforcements in the chassis, a modified rear suspension, a wider rear track (62.8 in. with 18-in. wheels on the Journey and 62.6 in. with 19-in. rims on the Sport versus 61.4 in. for the Coupe), and an extra 1.1 in. of overall width. The convertible hardware also adds a good chunk of extra weight, with the drop-top weighing between 4095 and 4110 lb versus the coupe's 3616-3668-lb weight range. While the switch from top up to top down won't be lightning fast, Infiniti successfully managed a tricky design with this Convertible being breathtakingly pretty top up and top down both.

Other convertible-only modifications include pop-up rollbars, an adaptive climate-control system that adjusts with vehicle speed and top position, and a special type of aluminum interior trim that can be switched out for African rosewood. Convertible-only options include a wind deflector, climate-controlled seats, and a 13-speaker Bose Open Air sound system that features two speakers in both front headrests. Designed specifically for the G37 Convertible, the system uses digital signal processing and a noise-monitoring microphone to adjust sound to compensate for wind and other ambient noise.

Also available in addition to the Journey and Sport 6MT Trim Levels is a special, limited production G37 Convertible Premier Edition, offered by Infiniti of Scottsdale exclusively through the Bloomingdale's Holiday Catalog.  With only 200 being built, the Premier Edition features a custom Monaco Red Leather leather-appointed interior, handcrafted red-tone Maple Wood trim, Midnight Black front grille and 9-spoke 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and tires.  Pre-orders for the Premier Edition are being taken now for delivery in 2009.  Lee Jones, New Car Manager at Scottsdale says that he already has three frim orders for the Bloomingdales version, and has more available.  To place an order, contact Jones at ljones@vtaig.com or order directly through www.bloomingdales.com.
