As part of it’s on-going expansion in India Telesoft Technologies, headquartered in the UK, announced today it has opened a telecoms laboratory in India to assist integration and rollout of new partner products in the region.

This year has already seen it establish a sales and support office in Delhi and partner with distributor Soanar. Recent successes in India include Pre-Paid Mobile IVR Applications using the OKEFORD Media Platform and OSS Billing Verification deployed using Telesoft’s HINTON passive probe products.

Feedback from the top 50 Telecom equipment vendors and application developers over the last two years has consistently been that to be successful we have to have a strong local commercial and technical presence, the right pricing and above all the willingness to partner to drive products to market quickly. The lab has Telesoft’s complete range of products allowing local customers to quickly integrate and test software applications and ensure network compatibility in real world conditions.

India is currently one of the fastest growing economies with growthin 2007 at 9.2%. Recent figures from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) showed that India added 10.1 million mobile subscribers in September, taking the total number of subscribers to 315 million. Analyst ISuppli estimates India's wireless subscribers will grow to 715 million by the end of 2012 a compound annual growth rate of 25%. With such huge numbers joining the mobile network there is huge business potential for new and extended data, voice and video services based on Telesoft Technologies products.
