She graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school in the world integrating all the different dietary theories. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Hofstra University and is certified as a Personal Trainer from the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM). Since she was a child she struggled with food and body image. She was always hard on herself and constantly pushed her body and mind to extremes. Years ago, while overtraining for a triathlon and working in a fast paced corporate environment, a debilitating sports injury resulted in two major surgeries, putting her in a wheelchair and leaving her unable to walk for almost two years. At that time, her struggle with eating came to the surface and she became more sensitive to the other areas in her life that weren’t working. She recognized that her chronic fatigue, stiff joints, achy muscles, and poor digestion led me to her not enjoying the fullness of life. Soon enough, she decided to leave the corporate world and one step at a time, begin picking up the pieces of her life again. She began working with her own Holistic Health Counselor to receive clarity around healing and end the life of chronic dieting that revolved around deprivation and discipline. She started to look closer at her behaviors around eating, relationship to her body, how to use whole foods as medicine, and how to reclaim her confidence from the inside out. This new awareness was the first step in learning how to eat for nourishment, and find other ways in life to nourish herself. She began trusting her body, finally started feeling comfortable listening to its messages, and pursued her own career in Holistic Health to help other people facing similar experiences by creating Good Karma Living. Practicing mindful breathing, yoga, qi gong, mantra meditation, effective communication, and a nice hot bath in my tub is what encourages me to stay grounded, grateful, and aware of the moment. This is what she needs in place to feel fully nourished and fully accepting of who she is. Lisa enjoys working with men and women who are ready to start living their fullest life again. You will learn how to become an active participant in your own healing process, learn about what foods support you, and develop a balance with your physical body, relationships, career, and spiritual life. # # # Your Mental Health is a program that deals with mental health issues and illness as well as the stigmas attached to people who suffer from various forms of mental illness.
