March 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Steve Flockhart is the lead pastor at New Season Church in Hiram, GA, west of Atlanta. Steve Flockhart and his family are strongly involved in the church where they help people to regain lost hope and faith and live an exciting life committed to Christ.  Every Sunday Steve delivers sermons on many current issues people can identify with. His sermons are not only inspiring, they are life changing – every week they see lives changed as people come to Christ. Steve brings to life Bible passages that we see totally relate to our lives today.  Many people that have strayed from God or have been out of fellowship, or have had regrets run back to the Father through the most current series, The Journey Home.

In February, Pastor Steve Flockhart delivered the series, 'The Journey Home: The Father hasn't given up'. In this series, his sermons included The Running Away, The Regret, The Restoration, and The Resentment. The sermon series is especially meant for people who have walked away from God, or have been the older brother – the Pharasee who lived a good life, but cannot welcome sinners into the fold. This series answers questions such as how could I get back?  Would God want me back – I have done too many shameful things.  Could God still love me?  Will things ever be the same – can I get back to where I was?   And the answer is Absolutely!

During the sermon 'The Regret', Steve Flockhart continues with the story of the Prodigal son which he started in the previous sermon. He says that people who are disconnected from God are absolutely accepted and can move back into fellowship with them.  All the gifts and good things that we do are great, but heaven really throws a party when one get's saved and when a lost one returns to God – that is when heaven rejoices!

The story is about a Prodigal son who wasted his fortune on wild and lavish living and thus squandered all the money he had inherited from his father. He lived a hellish life and drained away all his money in sinful activities. When he was left with no money, the country was hit with a severe famine and he was caught in dreadful circumstances. He took up a job feeding pigs where he was forced to fill his stomach with parts that swine eat. He finally hit bottom, remembering how things were back home, and he yearned for his home and his father.  He decides to go back home and ask for forgiveness and mercy, and for the lowest job in his father's house.

Steve Flockhart says, "Faulty thinking leads to a messed up life as sins never satisfy anyone. Sin gives pleasure for a moment but they leave you empty and unfulfilled. It becomes a downward spiral that worsens. Sin always promise happiness but brings despair.  Sin can look fun and inviting initially, but only guarantees misery."

According to Steve Flockhart, a sinful life leaves a person in the lowest of low and also spiritually and morally empty. Sin always brings a person down into degradation where they lose everything including money, heath, reputation, self respect and love. Steve Flockhart says, "People only change for two reasons either they have learned enough from the mistakes of others, or they are hurt enough by their own mistakes. But, repentance can give a new direction to the lives of the people who regret their wrongful deeds. As repentance is not feeling sorry but it is a powerful, soul shattering, attitude changing determination."  Videos of Steve Flockhart's sermons can also be viewed at http://www.newseasonchurch.com
