Aug. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- For the last 31 years, Collins College has stood out as one of the state’s best options for creative-minded students, offering bachelor of arts and associate degrees in various areas of technology and design. The school was recently honored with several achievements by the Arizona Private School Association (APSA), winning awards in three separate areas, including Best Retention and Completion; Best Student Organization and Best Placement Practice.

"The recognition is an indicator that we're delivering on our promises, guiding students throughout the course of their education, and inevitably seeing them fill vital roles in the marketplace upon graduation," said Collins College President Dr. Joshua Padron. "Above all, we’re just thrilled to be able to offer students an unrivaled, quality education, and support them as they pursue new and second careers."

According to APSA, there are approximately 200 private schools operating in Arizona, with more enrolled students than the state university system combined. Member schools cover a wide spectrum ranging from general education and technical schools to highly specialized trade institutes.

"While each recognition is equally important, we’re particularly proud of the best placement practice award, as students are facing greater challenges than ever in today’s economy," said Padron. "Creative industries are fiercely competitive and our graduates are entering the market with confidence and standing out because of their job readiness."

Collins students are provided every resource available, and are even taught through focused preparedness classes how to stand out in a competitive market saturated with qualified candidates. Some of the school’s best practices include career management curriculum, an alumni network, workshops, networking events and even a "wall of wisdom," which offers real-world advice directly from past students to current students that may be feeling the strain of today’s market-related pressures.

Collins College is located in Phoenix and has a nationwide online presence, with an enrollment of approximately 1,200. Earlier this year the school opened a new 70,000 square foot facility in the Cotton Center Business Complex. For more information, please visit http://www.collinscollege.edu.
