Aug. 24, 2009 - PRLog -- PLEASANTON, Calif.—D.W. Morgan Company is participating in the 1st National Conference and Business Opportunity Fair for minority supplier development in China this week.

Grant Opperman, D.W. Morgan’s President and Chief Strategy Officer, is representing the supply-chain management and transportation logistics firm as a member of the business opportunity mission from the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).  D.W. Morgan is certified as a Corporate Plus™ minority-owned business by the NMSDC.

The week-long inaugural conference—with events in Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai—is hosted by the Minority Supplier Development (MSD) China, the first non-profit organization in China dedicated to connecting minority business with corporations for business opportunities.

“Our participation in this business opportunity mission is an important element in D.W. Morgan’s ongoing effort to develop business opportunities for minority suppliers not only in the United States but throughout the world,” Opperman said.

The conference is designed to raise awareness of the first national minority supplier development effort in China, broaden support from both the government and private sectors, and to connect qualified minority businesses with participating corporation for business opportunities. Participants will gain first-hand market information and experience that the Chinese ethnic minority business community offers and identify potential business partners.

Opperman will take part in press conferences in Beijing and Chengdu as well as  make presentations to government officials. He is also scheduled to be interviewed by China Business News.
