SCS Engineers Names Chris A. Nelson as National Partner, Brownfields

Aug. 24, 2009 - PRLog -- San Diego, CA — SCS Engineers (SCS) is pleased to announce that Christopher A. (Chris) Nelson, REA, is now a National Partner for its Brownfields practice. Previously in his career, Mr. Nelson served as a Project Director in the Brownfields real estate development field.

In his new role, Mr. Nelson leads company-wide efforts related to SCS Secure, the Brownfields Strategic Initiative for SCS Engineers. He develops strategic relationships with partners, service providers and clients, and assists regional offices as it relates to Brownfields projects.

“As a National Partner, Chris will help grow SCS Engineers’ Brownfields practice as the real estate industry and select markets recover from the economic downturn,” said Jim Walsh, PE, president and CEO of SCS Engineers.

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Mr. Nelson’s more than 19 years of experience in the environmental services industry spans both the private and public sectors, and includes consulting, government and Brownfields real estate development experience. He is a Registered Environmental Assessor I in California and he holds a California Real Estate Sales License.

He has worked as a project director in the Brownfields real estate development field for the past several years evaluating dozens of properties nationwide for Brownfields and real estate development potential as well as directing the many aspects of Brownfields development activities for several properties on the west coast. Mr. Nelson has extensive experience working throughout the western U.S. on properties regulated under CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Water Act and numerous other federal and state environmental and hazardous waste cleanup regulations.
