UK care home operator Sunrise Senior Living launches campaign for ‘activity in older age’.Sunrise Senior Living UK is coordinating a national campaign to promote wellness with an Open House Day on Saturday 5th September. Sunrise will open its doors to the public to show its pioneering programme of activities, entertainment and hobbies.
By: Dean Hodgetts Alchemy Communication Sunrise Senior Living is most often thought of as an organisation that provides high quality, personalized care for seniors in high quality surroundings. On closer examination it is clear that there are other programmes that promote the wider idea of wellbeing. So rather than just inviting in seniors, their families and friends to experience the high quality surroundings of Sunrise, with some refreshment, the day will be showcasing Sunrise’s extensive activities, entertainments and hobbies programme, which is so central to the idea of living at Sunrise. There won’t just be talk about things to do: there will be activities to actually participate in during the day, from games to hobbies (like arts and crafts). Live musical entertainment will accompany the day and there will be complimentary refreshment for all visitors. “We are using this day to promote the idea that activities and interests help drive overall wellbeing in our older years. Sunrise is passionate about this and we want a wider audience of seniors and people involved in their lives to think about this issue seriously,” commented John Kirk, Director of Sales and Marketing for Sunrise’s UK operation. Sunrise’s Activities Open House Event is open to the public. Those interested in participating should call Sunrise on 0800 012 1861 or see sunrise-care.co.uk.
