Animal Adventureaaargh! At ZSL London Zoo

Embark on a spooky Animal Adventure this Halloween half term between Saturday 24th till Sunday 1st November.

Oct. 7, 2009 - PRLog -- ZSL London Zoo’s new £2.3m exhibit, Animal Adventure, is getting a spooky makeover this half term. From Saturday 24th October until Sunday the 1st November, the all new children’s zoo will be more ‘Animal Adventureaaargh’ as it is transformed into a spine tingling world of Halloween frights and delights.

With a packed schedule of daily events including spooky storytelling and pumpkin carving, there’s enough to make the whole family scream with delight.

Start your experience with a visit to the ‘Creepy Tipi’ for some eerie story telling. Sit back, relax and let your imagination run wild as the Zoo’s explainers tell a thrilling tale with guest appearances from some (not-so!) scary Zoo inhabitants.

Let your children become ‘Mini Keepers’ and prepare some Halloween inspired treats for the ring-tailed coatis. Children will be able to fill a hollowed out pumpkin with scary snacks and watch as the animals devour their gruesome grub.

Don’t miss your chance to see the Halloween special of ‘Animals in Action’ where some of the Zoos’ creepiest creatures demonstrate their natural behaviours. Learn all about the frightening antics of black vultures, burrowing owls, rats and skunks as they show off their scariest skills.

Make sure you look out for the Zoo’s night time beasts. With aardvarks and porcupines to name but a few, there are many nocturnal animals that are definitely not afraid of the dark! Explore the dark dens and terrifying tunnels in Animal Adventure, where you can really get up close and personal with these creatures of the night.

There’s also a chance for visitors to get creative in a frightening fashion from Monday 26th October until Saturday 31st October. Visitors will be able to ‘design’ some sinister species by taking part in ‘The Big Draw’ event, ‘Emergency Evolution’ at ZSL London Zoo.

Artist Hatty Morris will be on site to encourage all visitors to get drawing, whilst imagining how different species will need to adapt to survive climate change. If you’ve always wondered what a giraffe would look like with webbed feet or a hippo with wings, then now’s your chance to put a pen to paper and make it real!

With so much to see and do, ‘Animal Adventureaaargh’ at ZSL London Zoo is the event to attend this Halloween half term. To find out more or book tickets, visit our website at www.zsl.org/halloween
