New Releases, New Mediums & Live Painting Highlight Arvid's Homecoming Show at Vinings Gallery

Oct. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- On December 5 and 6, Vinings Gallery will welcome Thomas Arvid home for a special, one-man show. The event for the critically acclaimed, Atlanta-based artist and purveyor of fine living marks the ninth annual show, giving guests the opportunity to meet Arvid, watch him paint, view several original works created solely for this show, and learn about his latest release--a limited edition sculpture entitled "Cork Envy."

After a whirlwind year touring the country and making appearances at galleries, food and wine festivals and exclusive dinners, Arvid returns to Atlanta to spend the holidays with family and friends.

As his career has progressed, Arvid has become recognized as an icon of fine living, someone that enthusiasts continue to look to for inspiration and insight. This Atlanta appearance will find the artist celebrating a myriad of milestones from the past year.

As a true artist, Arvid continuously challenges himself to work in new mediums, so it only follows that his creative talent would extend to the world of sculpture. The first in Arvid's new series of sculptures, “Cork Envy” is created from a clay mold cast in resin. The resin sculpture is then hand embellished by the artist to capture the delicate beauty and detail of a wine-stained cork.

The sensation surrounding Arvid's work is palpable. His international appeal has created such demand that his work is represented by elite art galleries all over the US, Canada, and Japan. During his return to Vinings Gallery, Arvid will work on an in-progress, original painting. He will also personalize fine art limited editions of new releases including: “Bear Necessities” featuring Cakebread Cellars and “Easy Living."

The Vinings Gallery events kick off a month-long exhibition and sale of Arvid's work, which will run through December 31, 2009.
