David Morgan Featured In Nafta Story In Logistics Today

Founder, CEO of D.W. Morgan Co. says “Mexico could be the next China.”

Oct. 19, 2009 - PRLog -- PLEASANTON, Calif.—The trade journal Logistics Today featured David W. Morgan, the founder and CEO of D.W. Morgan Company, in its Sept. 17 edition, which centers on NAFTA and doing business in Mexico.

Morgan, who founded his supply-chain management and transportation logistics company nearly 20 years ago, responded to questions about how trade and, specifically, logistics operations have evolved under NAFTA and what lies ahead.

He noted that despite the fact that it has been in place for 15 years, NAFTA is a regulatory opportunity. Because some of the provisions have not yet been enacted, he sees an upside potential that Mexico can become a more significant part of U.S. supply chains. There’s a real opportunity for manufacturers to reduce the amount of inventory in their pipeline, he pointed out.

Morgan’s quoted comments in the story include:

“Mexico doesn’t have to be a junior member of the global economy. It can take a country five to 10 years to get its infrastructure built up to support a role as a global trading force, and Mexico has many elements underway.”

“Mexico could be the next China.”
