Jeff Allen's First Radio Single Reaches Top Ten on the Texas Music Chart

Oct. 22, 2009 - PRLog -- Jeff Allen’s first radio single, RAISED ON GETTN’ BY, from his debut album of the same name, has been on the Texas Music Chart for 15+ weeks and continues to make a steady climb landing at #8 for the week of September 21, 2009.  This marks Jeff’s FIRST TOP TEN SINGLE and successfully on his first radio release.   Jeff has been busy promoting the single with radio stations in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.   Jeff has been featured on several broadcasts including WACO 100.com and WOLF/KPLX 99.5 (The Front Porch Series) with in studio performances by Jeff.  RAISED ON GETTN’ BY is a song written by Jeff that talks about his life growing up in Texas.   Allen’s first album, Raised on Gettin’ By, is his first full length studio recording on which Allen wrote or co-wrote eight of the eleven songs for the project making it an extremely personal reflection of the man himself.

“Raised on Gettin’ By is a song about appreciating what you have, knowing where you come from, and having pride in what you’ve earned.  I wasn’t poor growing up, but there were times when we barely made it through.   And even when things got really bad, we always knew it would be ok.  I encourage anyone who “doesn’t have it all”, to enjoy their life, take pride in what they DO have, and remember that “the sweet ain’t as sweet, without the sour”.”
