By: Njohn System integrators and OEMs use redundancy to develop ultra reliable applications in telecoms networks. Typical applications include SMSC nodes that store and forward SMS messages and call control soft switches that backhaul SS7 signaling data through the IP network. “Extending C-Cure to IP networks allows our partners to develop high-availability signaling applications for next generation networks that communication service providers now demand”, said Mathew Downham, Product Manager, Telesoft Technologies. During normal operation C-Cure software ensures the standby node works in lock step with the active node ready to take control in an instant if an error occurs. Telesoft Technologies C-Cure high-availability software has been available for MPAC Telephony Boards interfacing to TDM networks using SS7 since 2002. The SIGTRAN extension to C-Cure allows the same field proven higher-level protocol signaling such as ISUP, TUP, TCAP, SCCP to communicate over IP rather than TDM networks. Signaling transport (SIGTRAN) extends SS7 signaling from traditional PSTN to IP, 3G and LTE wireless networks using a unified architecture and allowing easy migration of applications to next-generation networks. Telesoft Technologies also recently announced it now offers free 2 month SIGTRAN lab licenses to qualifying customers.
