D.W. Morgan Increases On-The-Ground Footprint In Mexico

Supply chain and logistics firm expands last-mile operations in Mexico’s Silicon Valley

March 3, 2010 - PRLog -- PLEASANTON, Calif. ― The D.W. Morgan Company has increased its award-winning supply-chain management and transportation logistics services in Mexico by leasing space at the Parque Industrial Jalisco in Guadalajara, the capital city of the state of Jalisco. Guadalajara is at the center of Mexico’s Silicon Valley and this new 12,000-square-foot warehouse provides much needed services to companies moving product into or out of the region. This increase in space comes just months after the company established a corporate presence in the country.

D.W. Morgan’s new warehouse is conveniently situated near a major highway, and just a short distance from Aeropuerto Internacional Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. The company’s dedicated fleet of trucks in Mexico can transport goods and materials for high-tech manufacturers throughout the country and to North America. Operations in Mexico will work closely with the company’s Texas-based facilities located in Austin, Dallas, Houston and Laredo.

“This new warehouse expands our presence in this important high-tech region,” said David W. Morgan, CEO and founder of D.W. Morgan Company. “It provides yet another link connecting the last mile points in our outsourced supply chain world-wide.”

Expanding the warehouse space in Guadalajara increases the company’s capacity to hold overflow cargo from other D.W. Morgan locations, which is sometimes needed during peak seasons. The increased area also provides critical storage space to support the company’s Business Continuity Plan for dealing with unplanned disaster or emergency situations anywhere in its freight routes. This ensures consistent supply-chain operations for a variety of high-tech manufacturing customers.

The facility offers security features including modern security fencing for the perimeter with guarded access to the property, and closed-circuit video monitoring of the exterior and interior of buildings.  This high level of security is consistent with Transported Assets Protection Association (TAPA) and should meet and exceed the needs of customers.
