March 17, 2010 - PRLog -- 18 March 2010, Egypt – Titanic Resort & Aqua Park has chosen Australian sustainability Program EarthCheck, as the preferred management tool to help increase operational efficiencies and minimize their environmental impact.

The Red Sea property features 331 rooms, a restaurant, pool bar, fitness room, Health Club and abundant water-play areas. Being located in such an arid region makes water conservation practices a high priority.

“After assessing the many certification schemes available internationally, we chose the EarthCheck Program, “said Mr Nabil Al Refai, Vice Chairman of Titanic Resort & Aqua Park. “It gives us confidence that we are compliant with legislated regulations and helps us in applying an international standard to our operations.”
EC3 Global has exclusive management rights for the EarthCheck Program and worked closely with parent organisation, the Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre (STCRC) to develop a system that is world-leading.

Having already certified and benchmarked more than 1000 organisations in over 60 countries, EC3 Global takes a science-based approach to certification and believes that transparency of claims is paramount.

Previously the provider of science and technology for the Green Globe scheme, EC3 Global recently launched the Earthcheck Program; which signalled the raising of the bar in environmental certification and sustainable operations.

“We’ve worked with Titanic for a while now and are thrilled that they’ve upgraded to the EarthCheck Program,” said Stewart Moore, CEO of EC3 Global. “This ensures they continue to apply Best Practice to the management of the Resort and Aqua Park and are taking an approach to environmental management that is based on science and more than a decade of benchmarking activity.”
