Oil Painters of America Selects Walls Fine Art Gallery in Wilmington, NC for 2010 Eastern Regional

April 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Oil Painters of America has a membership of over 3200 artists.  With three levels of membership, each attained through a jury process, the organization is focused on the preservation of representational art by providing support and promotion to their members and the Art through education, exhibitions, and marketing.  

The organization began in 1991 as a reaction to the focus on the avant-garde in educational institutions as well as galleries and museums.  Oil Painters of America claims no gripe with the pursuers of the cutting edge, but believes that the foundational elements of Art should not be forgotten simply because they are not ”new”.  

Walls Fine Art Gallery has a 25 year history of providing access to the works by some of the most awarded and recognized artists alive and working today through both their website and brick-and-mortar.  Although the gallery is still housed in its original building in a small Southern city it has captured the attention of artists and collectors far and wide by offering a carefully selected range of artwork of consistent quality, lectures by , and workshops, and now has the attention of Oil Painters of America.

The exhibition begins on Thursday, October 14, 2010 starting with a two-day preview and sales beginning on Saturday, October 16.  The exhibition will include 90 juried Member and Signature Member paintings as well as paintings by Master Signature Members.
