Cornelius Youth Orchestras to Perform at Bailey Middle School

April 15, 2010 - PRLog -- The Cornelius Youth Orchestras (CYO) will be performing a family-friendly, community concert on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Bailey Middle School in Cornelius, NC.  The concert will be held from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm in the school Cafeteria.  Admission is free, so mark your calendars for a fun filled night out of excellent live entertainment!  The Cornelius Youth Orchestras will be performing popular classical orchestral selections.   Bring your family and friends!

The CORNELIUS YOUTH ORCHESTRA is available to youth musicians with three or more years of music instruction and is intended for those musicians that can perform moderate to concert level musical compositions.  This program includes 30 - 45 minutes of sectional instruction from qualified music instructors, with additional group orchestra rehearsal and the opportunity for public performances.  Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm, at Bailey Road Recreation Center (Bailey Middle School) located at 11900 Bailey Road, Cornelius, NC.

The CORNELIUS CADET ORCHESTRA is available for youth musicians with 1 to 3 years of music instruction and is intended as a beginning orchestra program.  This program is 75 minutes of orchestra instruction and the opportunity for performance in a group setting.  Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 7:45pm, at Bailey Road Recreation Center.

NEW!    Is your youth interested in playing an instrument, but doesn’t know which one?  We can help introduce your youth to the various instruments so they can select the one that’s right for them.  CYO is offering beginner group musical instruction taught by qualified music instructors.  This program is open to youths with little or no instrumental instruction and offers 75 minutes of group instruction with the opportunity for performance in a group setting.  Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 7:45pm, at Bailey Road Recreation Center.

Cornelius Youth Orchestras ("CYO") is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, independent musical organization dedicated to providing cultural enrichment, instrumental musical instruction and unique performance opportunities for K-12 youth through an independent orchestral music program. Currently under the direction of Eduardo Cedeño and Bill Haraden, the program provides instrumental music instruction as a supplement to school and/or private instruction. Through two semester-long program sessions annually (Spring and Fall), the program includes a 30-minute sectional instruction from a qualified music instructor, and 45-60 minutes of group orchestra rehearsal on a weekly basis, culminating in community performances. Membership is open to all North Mecklenburg County, Cornelius and surrounding area youth. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings at Bailey Road Recreation Center (Bailey Middle School) located at 11900 Bailey Road, Cornelius, NC.
