Leigh Router Jigs Have Gone Pro

April 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Leigh Industries of Canada has announced a rebranding of two of their flagship woodworking router jigs. The Leigh D4R Dovetail Jig and the Leigh FMT Frame Mortise & Tenon Jig are now called the D4R Pro and the FMT Pro. These jigs are the same professional quality jigs previously sold, but with an updated name to distinguish them from the new Super Dovetail Jigs and Super FMT Frame Mortise & Tenon Jig. The new Leigh Super Jigs offer Leigh quality at a lower price.

The Leigh D4R Pro is the same four-time award winning D4R Dovetail Jig, but with two additions that make it even more versatile: the ability to cut five sizes of single pass dovetails as well as two sizes of precisely fitted box joints. Both of these additions utilize the standard dovetail finger assembly. These new additions add to the already extensive range of joinery options that are standard on the Leigh D4R Pro Dovetail Jig.

Upon registering a new router jig purchase with Leigh, woodworkers who bought a D4R Pro Jig manufactured between November 2009 and April 1, 2010 will automatically receive a free upgrade kit that enables the new one-pass dovetail and finger joint features. All D4R Pro jigs manufactured after April 1 will include the new features.

The Leigh FMT Pro is still the same award-winning Leigh FMT Frame Mortise & Tenon Jig, with no change except the name. This router jig is the tool preferred by woodworkers who want to produce perfectly matching mortises and tenons using the same guide. The FMT Pro router jig is easy to use, works quickly, and allows for absolute repeatable accuracy.

The Super Dovetail Jigs are available in 12", 18" and 24" sizes, and each jig features Leigh’s legendary quality, but at a lower price point than the Pro jigs. The Super Dovetail Jig package includes everything needed for a router owner to immediately begin producing perfect dovetails and box joints. The Super FMT Jig offers a frame mortise and tenon jig with excellent quality and value similar to the Super Dovetail Jigs.
