Former Speaker of the House Tom Finneran to Headline Employment Options Celebrity Roast May 20

April 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Former State Representative Steve LeDuc will be on the hot seat as the first person to be roasted at the Employment Options Celebrity Roast to benefit the agency. Former House Speaker Tom Finneran and current WRKO Radio host will headline a fantastic line up of friends and colleagues and serving as master of ceremonies for the event will be WCVB TV Anchor Ed Harding.

Other Roasters scheduled to appear are: City Councilors Arthur Vigeant, Robert Seymour, Former City Councilor, Maura Webster, Former Mayor Michael Hogan with friend Jim Kane, State Representative, Daniele Gregoire and former aid to Steve LeDuc, John McEnaney. Other friends include family friend Chris Mechler, Steve Hitner, owner of Metrowest Printing, Bill Short of William R. Short and Son Funeral Home and current State Representative Peter Koutoujian. The evening will also be filled with a variety of humorous videos that will surely leave people laughing long after the event is over.

Employment Options, a recognized leader in providing a variety of crucial services to individuals recovering from mental illness is bringing back the old time celebrity roast on an annual basis in hopes of bringing a new and extremely comical and witty event to the city of Marlborough and to raise much needed funds for the programs of the organization.

The roast will take place Thursday, May 20 at the Best Western in Marlborough. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served starting at 6:30pm with the roast starting at 7:30pm. While the list of people expressing interest in “Roasting” Representative LeDuc is growing, the event will only host eight to ten individuals to have that opportunity. Dean Martin is credited with popularizing the celebrity roast in 1970; as famous friends pelted him with after dinner insults. Cleaned up and sponsored, the event became an NBC-TV series from 1975 to 1984 that featured stars such as Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball and Sammy Davis Jr.
