May 10, 2010 - PRLog -- TVN is a state-owned television station, but operates independently -- a unique example of public television in South America.

In making the announcement, Alex M. Perchevitch, president of Jampro said, "Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all the people of Chile as they recover from their devastating earthquake, but especially to our colleagues in the broadcasting industry who are under immense pressure to deliver news and information to help the victims. As the country rebuilds we are nevertheless proud to be associated with Chile's advancing broadcast infrastructure."

TVN reaches 98 percent of Chile's population through a network of over 200 repeaters. It also transmits a satellite feed seen around the world. For its new digital signal that will originate from its broadcast center in Santiago, TVN will be using a Jampro model JA-MS UHF broadband slot antenna from the company's Prostar series.

The system will include a JA/MS broadband UHF slot antenna, RCPU patch panel/power splitter, and Jampro Proline rigid transmission line in a two-line feed system for redundancy.

The broadband slot antenna was specifically designed for operation in particularly harsh environments such as those found in Santiago, located in a high valley between the Andes Mountains and the Chilean Coastal Range Mountains.  The antenna is ruggedly built with marine brass, copper and virgin teflon and enclosd by white, UV resistant radomes for additional protection.
