Zoo Nights at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo Friday 25th June 2010 18:30 - 22:00

June 8, 2010 - PRLog -- For one night only, the Zoo will be inviting visitors to experience the wonders of Whipsnade in a different light, at the hugely-popular late night opening event.

Guests should book now for the chance to take in the packed schedule of free events and entertainment throughout the evening, including a dusk demonstration of Elephantastic! where the Zoo’s herd of Asian elephants – including ten-month-old cutie Donna - will be waiting to show off their skills to the adoring crowd.

Visitors can embark on a twilight expedition of Wild Wild Whipsnade, the Zoo’s newest exhibit featuring lynx, moose and wild boar, or save a seat in the ‘splash zone’ for a special evening display of Sealion Splash.

For those who just want to sit and relax, ZOO NIGHTS provides the perfect opportunity to catch the sun setting over the beautiful Chiltern Hills. The Zoo’s talented chefs will be cooking yummy burgers on the barbie on the lawn, whilst a jazz band will be performing live music at the Wild-Bite cafe.

Flame Oz, fire-dancers extraordinaire, will be ending the evening in (truly spectacular!) style with their amazing choreography and daredevil stunts. Always a major crowd pleaser, guests will be left in awe of the grand finale of ZOO NIGHTS 2010.

Editors’ Notes

Zoo Nights at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is on Friday 25th June 2010. The event will begin at 6.30pm and finish at 10.00pm. Last entry is one hour before closing.

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is open late only one night of the year.

Tickets can be bought online at www.zsl.org/zoonights for a 10% discount on the ticket price; alternatively tickets can be bought on the gate on the night.

No cars, except for disabled blue badge holders, are allowed on site during Zoo Nights. The Zoo’s free Safari Bus and the Jumbo Express steam train will be running.

Visitors can bring their own picnics to Zoo Nights, but BBQs are not allowed on site at any time.
