Minegar Set for CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series Action Saturday Night

Two-Time RMCS champion Dave Minegar looks to get back in championship form at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho for round four of the ten race CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series.

June 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Dave Minegar, driver of the BodyBuilding.Com Chevrolet, is accustomed to pressure, challenges, and success. So far this season, he has been mired in the first two and he hopes that success is in store for his team Saturday night.  Minegar looks to get back in championship form at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho for round four of the ten race CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series.

Minegar has won three times at the tricky 1/3-mile paved oval with his last triumph coming in May of 2008. The series opened up the year at MVS but his night ended early back in April. "We have been chasing things a bit so far this year," Minegar said. "Magic Valley has been a hot and cold track for us over the years but I am feeling really good about the race, the car, and our chances Saturday night."

Mineger put his bad luck behind him in the last series event two weeks ago in Salt Lake City where he qualified sixth fast and finished fourth in the 100-lap race. "RMR was a good race for us," Minegar offered. "Even though we are having our problems it is really good to see so many other guys running well. It is good for the series. Our fourth place finish was really important to the team and sets us up for the rest of the year."

The series utilizes a 20-car invert putting the fast qualifier in time trials at the rear of the field to start the main event. And for most of his RMCS career, Minegar has started at the rear of the field as he holds 21 career Sharp Powder Coating Fast Time Awards. Throughout his career he has had an average starting position of 16th in every RMCS event and of his 54 career series starts, 41 have resulted in top ten finishes.

"Qualifying is key," Minegar offered. "It sets the tone for the race and for the season. You do not do well in this series if you can't qualify fast. Our focus is to set fast time and run to the front. If we can do that then our season will be on the right track."

Minegar racing is owned by Pat Minegar and is sponsored by BodyBuilding.com, Redline, Gaspari Nutrition, Supreme Nutrition, MusclePharm, Optimum Nutrition, A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning, Lennox,  and Dillon Auto Craft.  Minegar is in his seventh season in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series and is a two-time series champion (06, 08) with 54 career starts, six wins, 22 top five and 41 top ten finishes along with twenty (21) career Sharp Powder Coating Fast Time Awards and most career money won.
