Boysal Solidly in Field for NASCAR K&N Pro Series Race at Infineon

June 18, 2010 - PRLog -- CTR Motorsports and driver Rick Boysal  of San Ramon took thier first laps behind the wheel of the Thompson Motorsports prepared NASCAR K&N Pro Series car at Infineon Racway in nearby Sonoma, CA Friday afternoon. While Boysal has plenty of road racing experience, he has not had a lot of time in his NKNPS machine this year. He qualified his Blendtec/Gatorz/Medical Staffing Force Toyota 27th for the Thunder Valley Casino Resort "200" set for tomorrow afternoon.

While qualifying 27th was not where Rick Boysal (#60 Medical Staffing Force/Blentec/Gatorz Toyota) wanted to end up, he will have 60 laps tomorrow to move his Toyota to the front. "The car felt real good and I think we will be pretty good in the race," Boysal said. "The car has been really consistent so we will just have to drive our race and see how it tuns out. Qualifying is one thing but racing is quite another and I feel really good about the race." Boysal is making the first of three starts in the series at Infineon.

"Road racing is about patience and track position," Boysal offered. "We have our work cut out for us but it is a long race and we just need to run our race and we will be fine."

Boysal began his racing career in 2000 and has focused on road racing winning races and championships along the way in the SCCA and then later racing the SPEED World Challenge in a Corvette, along with competing in a variety of other sports car races.

After NASCAR K&N Pro Series event at Infineon Raceway this weekend,  Boysal will turn his attention to the flat 1.9-mile layout of Portland International Raceway in Portland, OR July 18. His final series road course event will be in September along side the Grand AM Series at the state-of-the-art Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah September 12.

Boysal also plans field a car in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series and will compete in select SCCA and other road racing events this season. Boysal’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series cars are prepared and maintained by Thompson Motorsports in Jerome, Idaho.
