3rd Annual “Roller Consolation” Roller Derby Event Returns to New Hampshire

July 15, 2010 - PRLog -- The event will include a double header bout featuring the debut of NHRD’s two home teams: the Seabrook Meltdowns and the Granite Skate Troopers, and a mixed bout with a veritable “who’s who” of women’s flat-track derby stars from across the Northeast.

In it’s third year, NHRD’s “Roller Consolation” is the only event of its kind in New England that brings together some of the finest roller derby talent the Northeast has to offer in a fast paced, exciting event that has become a fan favorite.  The first annual “Roller Consolation” event was featured on a segment of WMUR’s New Hampshire Chronicle in September 2008.

The action kicks off with doors opening at 3 pm, event beginning at 4 pm. Tickets are $8 in advance via the NHRD website (nhrollerderby.com), or $10 at the door. Children 10 and under are free. Doors open at 3pm and derby begins at 4pm. Concessions are available and the beer garden is open to fans 21 and over. Parking is free at JFK Coliseum on 303 Beech St. in Manchester.

NHRD is an all-woman, skater-owned, flat-track roller derby league with members from New Hampshire and Massachusetts. NHRD was founded in July 2007 with the intention of bringing roller derby to New Hampshire. http://www.nhrollerderby.com

About the WFTDA
The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association is the international governing body for the sport of women’s flat track roller derby and a membership organization for leagues to collaborate and network. The WFTDA sets standards for rules, seasons, and safety, and determines guidelines for the national and international athletic competitions of member leagues. There are currently 89 WFTDA member leagues and 36 leagues in the WFTDA Apprentice program. The WFTDA, a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt organization, is governed by a five-member, volunteer Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director.
