Silver Star Families of America Announces Their New Program "Honoring Our Veterans' Caregivers"

July 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Sunshine Roth, President of the SSFOA, stated: This program fits nicely with our mission of remembering and honoring our wounded, ill and injured veterans from all branches of service and all wars.

The Caregivers of our nations veterans are unsung heroes, doing work that most don’t get paid for, that they aren’t trained for and most never expected to have to do. But they do so out of love.   The Caregivers to our Veterans are Angels On The Homefront.

Roth stated, "We have opened our web site for nominations for the best Caregivers. They may be nominated by the veteran, or the Caregiver  themselves may do it, or anyone who knows them best.  We call it our “Caregiver Hall of Honor.”

The Silver Star Families of America is committed to the Caregivers of our Veterans and we will continue to fight for their recognition, compensation and training.  This Hall of Honor is the first step in recognizing those who give up so much for us.  

Roth also stated, "We have and will continue to advocate for them to receive stipends, training and the recognition they so richly deserve. Since they are essentially working for the V.A. their efforts need to be compensated and recognized.”
