Mosaic Harmony Announces Start of 18th Season

Aug. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Oakton, VA —Mosaic Harmony, an interfaith, multicultural community choir, is pleased to announce the choir’s 18th season first rehearsal will be taking place at UUCF, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, VA at 7:30pm.  The choir is pleased to announce that you “have already passed the audition!” whether you have been to a Mosaic Harmony concert or just have a love of singing or wish to meet a new community of friends who believe they have more in common than differences.

Director Rev. David K. North is excited about the beginning of this season due in large part to the fact that he never dreamed that more than 13 years after signing on to lead the small choir that he would be still here.  Awards from many organizations, three CD recordings, an international goodwill trip and performances at many other local area prestigious concert venues later, he is looking forward to even more successes with the group.  “When I became director, there were maybe 20 members and now with nearly 70 members strong and many fans and supporters, I feel humbled and blessed to be with such a wonderful community of friends, families and singers who truly enjoy singing and learning the music and fellowshipping with each other.  The choir’s performance schedule for the 2010-2011 seasons already has some high profile appearances confirmed including Intersections on March 13, 2011.  North says everyone can sing – whether you are a soprano, alto, tenor or bass or you are a member of the “joyful noise” section, and encourages the community to join the choir on Tuesday evening for their first rehearsal.  In addition, the choir rehearses at Goodwin House in Alexandria on the third Saturday of each month and enjoys performing for the residents there at least twice yearly as a thank you for the rehearsal space and time.
