Landscape Lighting and Your Home

Not only is it an easy way to improve your home's appearance and atmosphere, outdoor lighting increases the functionality of your yard as well as your property's safety and security.

There are several options available for lighting designs: Traditional outdoor lighting works with your home's electrical system using specialized waterproof elements. This type of lighting is not used as often in residential landscaping due to the expense and the often troublesome installation. Low-voltage systems are the most commonly used in today's outdoor settings. These systems offer a variety of options, are cost efficient and easy to install, and require very little electricity to operate.

Solar powered landscape lights are also popular. This type of outdoor lighting is affordable and eliminates the need for extensive wiring that can mar the appearance of your outdoor space. Some solar systems offer limited lighting output, however.
