Rain fails to keep buyers away from Auction in Paddington

Oct. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Buyers and onlookers spilled out onto Mc Nab street on Saturday to watch the auction of a Paddington workers cottage at 8 Mc Nab Street, Paddington.

Despite the dreary weather onlookers watched in anticipation as two of seven registered bidders fought to be the winner. The Auctioneer and marketing agent Grant Penrose encouraged them to bid faster as gentle rain drops fell.

A slow start made it clear to all how quiet the street was and the Auctioneer opened the bidding at $500,000, the under bidder then jumped in at $510,000 and it was a two horse race until bidding paused at $570,000 when the auctioneer spoke with the owner and bidders. The highest bidder increased his bid to $580,000 and Grant Penrose then announced the property was on the market and going to be sold. The under bidder had one final challenge offering $1,000 bid only to be disappointed as the buyer of the property came back to secure the property with a bid of $582,000.

The purchaser who is a local resident loves the locality, close to  Rosalie Village facilities and plans to renovate this 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage which has no car accommodation.

Both the buyer and the seller were happy, shaking hands and congratulating each other as the buyers wife took photos to remember the occasion.
