Mobile Leaders from General Motors and Gomez to Present at Upcoming Mobile Monday Detroit Event

Leading Michigan-based Firms Are Embracing Mobile Technology; General Motors and Compuware-owned Gomez Discuss the Opportunities and Benefits of Mobile

Oct. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- DETROIT, MI – Many of Michigan’s largest and most well-known firms are embracing mobile technology. Proving the point, those leading the charge at two of the State’s most prominent companies will discuss their work in mobile, as well as the opportunities and benefits the technology can provide, at the next Mobile Monday Detroit event. Speakers from General Motors and Compuware-owned, Gomez, will take part in a Mobile Monday Detroit event scheduled to take place on Monday, November 11th at the Compuware Building in downtown Detroit.

Speaking on behalf of General Motors will be Matt Hovey, Program Manager / Senior Architect / Strategist for Mobile Computing, and Mike Barkume, Manager of Dealer and Consumer Mobile Solutions for Sales, Service and Marketing. Hovey also chairs GM’s Mobile Technology Forum, and has led mobile technology teams in both the engineering and IT domains, including OnStar’s Advance System Architecture Team.  Barkume leads a development team that’s seeking to change the way people think about GM’s brands through innovative approaches to automotive retailing.  Over the past year, Barkume’s team has overseen the successful launch of Chevy Baseball, Chevy Showroom and Mobile Workbench – apps that impact consumer perception thru gaming and shopping tools, and the dynamics of the sales process by extending the dealership beyond its walls.

Speaking on behalf of Gomez will be Amir Rozenberg, the firm’s Product Manager for Mobile Product Strategy.  Amir is an entrepreneur with experience in the mobile wireless space, most recently as Senior Product Manager at Adva Mobile, where he led their Direct-to-Fan strategy to establish product requirements, as well as managing business relationships with mobile operators, brands, content owners and messaging vendors worldwide.  Rozenberg also worked for Groove Mobile where he developed the product strategy and business models for the firm’s mobile music offerings, and prior to that, was at Nextcode Mobile with responsibility for the infrastructure, usability and handset applications of the firm’s code scanning product portfolio.

Gomez’s Rosenberg will be presenting on the topic of Mobile Browsing Performance as discussed in a recent white paper released by the firm which has been receiving a great deal of attention in the mobile industry media, ‘Great Expectations:  What Users Want from the Mobile Web Experience’.

The Mobile Monday Detroit event will be held on Monday, November 8th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Compuware Building located at One Campus Martius in Detroit.  Attendance is Free, though space is limited.  Those interested in attending may register at http://meetup.com/Mobile-Monday-Detroit.
