By: Mobile Technology Assn of Michigan · The global wearables market will grow at a compound annual rate of 35% over the next five years · Smart watches will be the leading category, rising by a compound annual rate of 41% over the next five years · Apple Watch will account for 40% of smartwatch shipments in 2015 and reach a peak 48% share in 2017 To help Michigan innovators understand the wearables market and the opportunity it provides for Michigan businesses in a wide variety of industries, on Monday, May 11th Mobile Monday Detroit is presenting a panel of Michigan-based experts who will provide information on the wearables landscape, as well as a deep-dive into the Apple Watch and Wearable Health Monitoring. Speakers will include: · Richard Geyer, Engineering Lead, Vectorform · Leo Dion, CEO/Owner, BrightDigit · Dr. Omid Dehzangi, Assistant Professor, Computer and Information Science, University of Michigan - Dearborn The evening’s program will take place at the corporate headquarters of Vectorform in Royal Oak, with refreshments also provided compliments of Vectorform.
