My Garage Museum & Retail Store Receives Facelift

Nov. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Effingham, Ill. – A recent remodel created a more guest-friendly, efficient environment in the MY Garage Museum & Retail Store at Mid America Motorworks. MY Garage, located on Mid America Motorworks’ corporate campus, is home to a bevy of Corvettes and Air-Cooled Volkswagens in Mike Yager’s collection.

Among the changes was the repositioning of the sales counter at the east end of the building. Visitors are now greeted as they enter the store, allowing MY Garage staff to quickly direct guests to the areas they are seeking and assist with ordering parts for Corvettes and VWs. The Volkswagen area of the Museum has also expanded, occupying much of the east end of the building.

MY Garage Museum & Retail Store houses literally thousands of pieces of automotive collectibles and memorabilia. The facility also showcases an authentic 1910 gas station that was moved and restored on-site. However, the most significant pieces in the collection are the vehicles. From prototype, rare and racing cars to those featured in films, MY Garage Museum & Retail Store is home to a truly one-of-a-kind collection.

The Museum showcases automobiles that car lovers would not be able to see up-close anywhere else. Between 20 and 25 cars are on display at any given time, with the specific display changing throughout the year.

The Retail Store features apparel, accessories and memorabilia for Corvette and Air-Cooled Volkswagen enthusiasts, including glassware, model cars and Mid America Motorworks products. The facility remodel provides an improved flow throughout the building with a fun atmosphere for browsing the vehicles or ordering parts and accessories.
