Dec. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Tet this year falls on February 3rd. Like every year, after two weeks of flower market, the lunar new year festival will mark a marked slow down in social activity for a few days.

The floating markets will be poor and little visited if at all for the few days following Tết. We thus offer to amend the programs and add a presentation of the traditional dance of the licorns: the house spirit, ông Táo goes back to the sky to submit his yearly report on the activities of the family, and upon his return, leads the dragons who command bring happiness to the household.

Two days on Bassac cruise will drive travelers to the best of Vietnam Traditional Tet Holiday.

The first day is utilized to explore Can Tho, where the floating market mark a special lifestyle in Vietnam South region. Bassac Cruise board at Can Tho,  Ninh Kieu pier. The friendly cruises welcome visitors with cool drink, introduction to the ship and crew and help to check in the cabins. After that, the cruise start its departure downstream of the Hau river. Lunch on board while en route. The exploring begins with tour near Tra On floating market, turning into Nicolai canal, towards the Mang Thit and Co Chien rivers. After a fullday of enter the floating life, visitors can have rest on the upper deck in a scenery of rice fields, sugar cane, woods on the near banks. By mid-afternoon, the Bassac casts anchor for a visit on shore: past the first tree line, quiet discovery of the peaceful life in the delta's countryside, of rice fields, fruit trees and the welcoming inhabitants. On its way boarding back, complimentary drink are served as a welcome back on board.  The tour ends with enjoying the sunset around the bar or on deck. In the evening, the crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river towards her anchorage point for the night.

The second day starts with discovering Cai be market. 06:30 Bassac crew will depart towards Cai Be, the passengers will take time to have breakfast while enjoying the scenery on the banks. The Bassac crosses Co Chien river then branches into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. Arrival in Cai Be around 08:30 am, the visitors will check-out and board of a local boat to visit an ancient house where local people do "Bánh Tét",  the traditional Lunar new year square cake, then transfer to the disembarkation place to enjoy the dragon dance performance. The dragon dance is performed on Tet holiday only. The travel end by mid-morning on shore at Cái Bè.
