Follow on Google News | Internet Bookshops - Comfortable, Practical, Safe !Some books are only sold in internet bookshops. But, all the books that are sold in physical bookstores, can be found also in the internet bookshops.
By: Askin Ozcan With the P.O.D. method which uses digital technique, limited amount of books are printed and distributed globally to various internet bookshops. As the books are sold, signals from the retailer internet shops are fed into the publisher's computer and new copies are quickly printed and supplied to the wholesaler and to the internet bookshops. Books never go out of print and because offset is not used, there is no need for storage and there is no loss in business due to unsold books. But, P.O.D. publishers , owing to the nature of the digital printing, usually sell only in the internet bookshops and not in the physical bookstores which favor offset books. According to one publisher, up to 100.000 copies, it is usually more economical to use the digital print and after 100.000 copies offset technique proves to be more economical. Due to this new digital printing and distribution techniques internet bookshops have mushroomed all around the world. Many P.O.D. publishers use as many as 200 internet bookshops in selling their books. Books published by these P.O.D. publishers are also usually available through the physical bookstores, by giving their ISBN , but not readily on their shelves. Waiting time for delivery is short, usually a week or so. Shopping for books at the internet bookshops is easy, practical and can be done in the comfort of one's home or office. One doesn't need to go to a physical bookstore, look for parking space, rub shoulders with a crowd while looking at the books, wait in the queu to pay. Physical bookstores are also limited in the number of books they carry on their shelves. This is perhaps between 30.000 to 50.000 in usual bookstores as against the 13,5 million books in English alone that are on the market ! For the remaining of books that are not on the shelves, one has to order by giving their ISBN , just the same as one does in the case of digitally printed P.O.D. books. Internet bookshops are indeed a new, modern and comfortable and safe way to shop for books. --- Author Askin Ozcan who has published six books in different genres in five years with three different book publishers ( Outskirts Press , Publish America, Xlibris) is very satisfied with the digital P.O.D. publishing and selling his books at internet bookshops. His books are sold at 200 internet bookshops, but are also available through 25.000 physical bookstores globally by giving the ISBN of the books.
