By: Michelle Holder Students have been tirelessly working to prepare bowls for this event. “The bowls are incredible this year,” stated Betsy Dawson as she walked from table to table at Barron Collier High School where the students were preparing the bowls for eating. “Attendees will want to get in line early as these creative pieces of art will go fast!” Bowl recipients will want to check the bottom of their bowl for a special surprise from the hands that have created the bowls. “It’ According to Linda Brown, “local artists have donated special,original, artistic pieces to the event to raise money for our local food banks.” An auction of these pieces will be held in the park pavilion. All proceeds will go to the Harry Chapin Food Bank which distributes over 11.5 million pounds of food each year to our community. The Naples Art Council received a grant to host a, “Paint an Empty Bowl” table. Stop by and paint a bowl for next year’s event. The council will have 70 bowls that will be available to paint throughout the day. It’s a fun way to donate your time to the event. Join Panera Bread, Sweetbay, Bond, Schoeneck & King, and many other local businesses and restaurants in the community as we work together to make this year a success.
