SCS Engineers Expert Receives Hydrogeologist Certification

Feb. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- SAN DIEGO, Calif. — SCS Engineers (SCS) announced that Charles Houser has earned his California-State Hydrogeologist certification. At SCS, Mr. Houser serves as Senior Project Geologist.  

Hydrogeology is a branch of the earth sciences dealing with the flow of water through aquifers and other shallow porous media.  As a certified Hydrogeologist, Mr. Houser will assume a more active role in SCS’s stormwater and groundwater monitoring practices, as well as continuing to develop a groundwater resource practice in San Diego County.  In addition to being a certified Hydrogeologist, Houser is a registered geologist and certified engineering geologist with experience conducting investigations in a variety of geological environments.  

Mr. Houser has worked in the earth science industry for more than 26 years.  His experience includes environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring, fault and landslide investigations, groundwater resource studies, geological mapping and geotechnical investigations.  He has assessed and remediated leaking underground storage tank (UST) sites and obtained reimbursement for assessment and cleanup costs from the California UST Cleanup Fund.

“Mr. Houser’s scientific knowledge of geology and experience in the earth science industry enable him to prepare practical hydrogeological research, accurate environmental assessments, and appropriate remediation approaches,” said SCS Vice President and San Diego operations director Daniel E. Johnson.

Mr. Houser is a graduate of San Diego State University, with a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Geological Sciences.
