Feb. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Radio Host Candace Chambers-Belida is excited to talk with Film Producer Carmen Studer about the incredible true life-story of "One Heart," on Love Bites For Lover's Only BlogTalk Radio Show, Thursday - 2/24th, at 8:00 PM (PST). http://www.blogtalkradio.com/lovebitesforloversonly

Carmen will share the power of what can happen when you take the time to stretch forth and open wide your arms of love, giving someone encouragement and strength no matter what they may be facing or if they may have lost their way.

Carmen Studer is a movie producer based in Dallas Texas, who has spent the last seven years in the entertainment business.  She is one of the  producers of the heartfelt sports story that became an international buzz,  One Heart.  One Heart is a movie based on a true story of a life-changing football game as the fans of Grapevine Faith formed a cheering squad for their opponents who were all young convicted criminals from a maximum security prison for Texas' worst youth offenders. Sports Illustrated has called this encounter “one of the top ten sportsmanship acts of the decade.”

This movie became the catalyst for a movement with a powerful undercurrent.   The movement is called One Heart Project, Carmen is one of the co-founders of the OneHeart Project which is an activation campaign, attached to the theatrical release of the One Heart movie, with the purpose of mobilizing individuals and organizations across America to participate in a movement to impact incarcerated and at-risk youth through two initiatives: 1) a standardized redirection initiative, and 2) a standardized reentry initiative.

Inspired to live what she preached through media, Carmen and her family invited Mack White, one of the Gainesville State School players into their home upon his release.  Mack White III has an exceptional story. He was born into a broken home and lived with his mom until CPS took him away at the age of 5 for abuse and neglect. After living in a foster home he was shuffled from home to home until he was introduced to the streets at the age of 13. Mack began living the typical street life of getting into trouble, hustling, missing school, and gang involvement. His freshman year he dropped out of high school to hustle full time. This led to Mack’s arrest and incarceration at the age of 16, he received a 3 year sentence for 2 counts of aggravated robbery. While incarcerated Mack realized that people like him don’t get many opportunities and he promised himself that if an opportunity ever came he would be ready. Mack accepted Christ and made the changes necessary and eventually was allowed to play basketball and football for Gainesville State School.

Mack just happened to be on the football field when a very special game was played, a game that gained international attention in the sporting world and this game changed his life. Upon release in March of 2009 Mack was taken in and mentored by Carmen Studer and her family, who had all crossed paths at the game, but did not meet until 6 month later. Mack has made the most of that opportunity. Mack is now and actor, model, spokesperson and professional speaker. And that is not enough, Mack wants to give back. He wants to stop kids from making the same mistakes he made. So he has become a spokesperson for OneHeart.

Since Mack and Carmen have worked together with the One Heart team sharing their love for kids trapped in the streets they have done much to create awareness and change actual lives. They have appeared on national news shows like Good Morning America and Inside Edition.  Their story is one of the heart and how love has an echo effect and how being a fan for someone can give them hope to climb out of their circumstances.  Kids in the streets need love, guidance, tools and a bridge out.  Carmen and Mack believe if enough of us open our hearts, homes, wallets, and resources to the poor and forgotten kids in the streets that we can spend more money building businesses and churches than penitentiaries.
