Feb. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Global Ambassadors at Dominion High School in Sterling, Virginia, is a student organization that promotes mutual understanding between nations and cultures, advocacy for human rights, and community awareness. For their 2011 service project, they are focusing on the well-being of young people in the community and internationally. The group's decision to build a playground for the children at Sahasra Deepika Institute stems from their commitment to make a positive impact on the lives of youth. Sahasra Deepika Institute in Bangalore, India, is a home for children who are either orphaned or come from destitute single-parent households. They are provided residential care and an education through high school in a positive and supportive environment. The new playground will provide them an exciting outlet for recreation. Global Ambassadors needs the support of the community to achieve their goal. The thirty students involved, with the guidance of faculty sponsors Heather Flor and Kimberly Wiss, and teachers Jennifer Rodgers and Rachel Pardue, are selling t-shirts, accepting donations, and planning special events, including an exciting Global Ambassadors Awareness Festival on March 18 at Dominion High School. To learn about the service project, make a donation, and find out how you can help, please visit the Global Ambassadors website at http://www.globalambassadors.bbnow.org.
