Volleyball Added at Surf & Sand Challenge in St. Augustine

Event will benefit Bay View Healthcare & Caring Hands
 
March 17, 2011 - PRLog -- The 2011 Corona Light Big Shot Volleyball Series, presented by 4C Totally Light 2Go Energy Drinks, has added joined forces with the St. John’s County Surf & Sand Challenge to kick off the start of the beach season in St. Augustine, FL. The addition of beach volleyball to the event will complement the surfing contest, endurance contest (triathlon with paddling instead of swimming) and a kids run making for a full fun day at the beach. Food vendors will be available at the main event site, Frank E Butler Park E at 5860 A1A South, St Augustine.

The Corona Light Big Shot Volleyball Series holds 35 events leading to the August $8,000 Big Shot Championships in Atlantic City, NJ and the $5,000 Rox Volleyball National Championships October in Clearwater Beach. The volleyball competition will raise funds for Bay View Healthcare and their charity organization Caring Hands/Caring Community, which provided final care for the recently deceased Pro Volleyball Player and St. Augustine Fireman Ranse Jones.

Top male and female doubles teams will compete for over $75,000 cash prizes during the 2011 Corona Light Big Shot Volleyball season including $12,000 at the spring events in Florida. Tournament play will start at 9 am with women’s finals scheduled for 6 pm Saturday at the pier volleyball courts followed by a player’s party at Panama Hattie’s. Admission is free for all spectators.
