By: INDIE VIXENS LLC The San Francisco International Women’s Film festival opens the festival this year with Raymonde Provencher's documentary, GRACE, MILLY,LUCY...CHILD SOLDIERS. The documentary highlights the gripping first-hand accounts of Grace Akallo, Milly Auma, and Lucy Lanyero. Grace, Milly and Lucy were among the thousands of young girls brutally abducted from Ugandan villages, trained to fight and kill for the Lord's Resistance Army (a notorious rebel group), and forced into a life of warfare and slavery. The opening night reception for the 2011 San Francisco International Women’s Film Festival will take place on April 6, 2011 at Mission Workshop in San Francisco from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Those who present their opening night ticket to the film festival will be admitted to the opening night event. Following the reception, the opening night film GRACE, MILLY,LUCY...CHILD SOLDIERS will screen at 8 pm at the Roxie Theater. # # # About San Francisco International Women’s Film Festival: Presented by the Women’s Film Institute, San Francisco International Women’s Film Festival has a long tradition of providing San Francisco residents some of the best films directed and co-directed by women from all over the world.
