Douglas County water entities team up to host series of public listening sessions

Regional water entities team up to host series of public listening sessions on water issues in Douglas County

March 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Douglas County citizens will have the chance to discuss the future of water in Douglas County thanks to seven listening sessions scheduled for late March and early April that are free of charge and open to the public. Douglas County Water Resource Authority, South Metro Water Supply Authority, the Rural Water Authority of Douglas County, and Douglas County government have teamed up to sponsor and organize the sessions, which are designed to give citizens the opportunity to provide opinions regarding potential problems and solutions surrounding the long-term water supply in Douglas County.

“Our hope is to listen to what people think are the greatest issues we are facing regarding our water supply, and what are the best steps we can take to address the issue” said DCWRA Executive Director Mark Shively. “As is the case with a lot of issues, the first step towards success is listening.  We look forward to hearing from our neighbors in Douglas County.”
